Profile Champions League club CSKA Moskva

Since the European Cup in the Champions League was made in about 1993, no team from the former Eastern bloc has claimed the European crown. The only team in the East have an impact was made during this time, Dynamo Kiev in the 1990s.

UEFA Champions League 2006/07 saw a recording contract with six pages of competition from the former Eastern bloc in the group stage. The teams come from Eastern Europe, Dynamo Kiev (Ukraine) Levski Sofia (Bulgaria), Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukraine), SpartakMoscow (Russia) and CSKA Moscow (Russia).

It is unlikely that this coming season winner of Eastern Europe (even if one of these teams can win if you can FC Porto) as an example, but if you make a team to select the impact competition, you must choose Russia CSKA Moskva.

The official name is Russian club PFC CSKA Mosvka or Professional Football Club - Central Sports Club of Army (Mosvka). Although not as successful as some of theirMoscow rivals, they won the old Soviet championship seven times (1946, 1948, 1951, 1955, 1991), Cup of Russia in 2002, 2005 and 2006 and won the title of the Russian League football twice in 2003 and 2005.

CSKA Moscow became the first Russian club to win in 2005 at a major European trophy as they won the UEFA Cup. In the final against Sporting Lisbon, they came from behind to win the match 3-1.

Since they beat Sporting Lisbon on their own land, nothingfazed the Army team in Moscow. This season, CSKA and exchange views on the title of Russia for the second consecutive year, they are currently a handful of games remaining and are on track to win the impact in the Champions League.

Their coach Valery Gazzayev has built a strong team on a mixture of Russian youth and experience with a blend of Brazilian flair center. Gazzayev also expected to clarify that the team of Army leading their second consecutive title this season.

Gazzayev also benefitedthe recent investment in the Russian football and could benefit from investments in Sibneft. The club received a major financial infusion from a sponsorship deal with Sibneft, a company of Russian oil billionaire Roman Abramovich added. This investment has enabled CSKA now able to compete in the transfer, and also offer competitive salaries to attract players from outside Russia.

Sibneft investment team in the Army led Gazzayev successfullyAssembly is not only a strong position XI, but a competitive team with international players at different positions on the field.

Gazzayev preferred starting lineup in the form of 3-2-3:

--------------------- --------------------- Akinfeev

A Ignashevich Berezutsky --- --- V Berezutsky

Aldonin -------------- ------------ ----------- Dudu

Krasic Carvalho Zhirkov ---------- ---------------

Vagner Love Jo ------------- -------- --------------

CSKA have one ofstrongest defenses in Russia and is based on
Akinfeev, who is considered by many experts as one of the most promising keepers in Europe. The country at the head of goalkeeper has a trio of Russian national team playing in front of him and Sergei Ignashevich Berezutsky twins, Alexei and Vasily.

The three-man defense is protected by two operations in the Brazilian midfielder Dudu and Russian captain Evgeni Aldonin. Both players are very diligent and experienced Dudu'sPerformances have to make a phone call led to a new look squad Dunga of Brazil. Bosnian international Elvir Rahimi is also capable of a representative for both players.

A man three in midfield behind the two attackers used with Serbian Milos Krasic and one of the best young Russian players, Zhirkov, occupy the wings. Both players are electrifying and incitement on the sides and provide advice with all sorts of problems.

New capped Brazilian international Daniel Carvalho plays in the hole behind theStrikers. Carvalho was the first foreign player to be named Russian player of the year contributed to a series of fine performances for CSKA to win the championship of Russia and the UEFA Cup in 2005.

In attack, Gazzayev rather Brazilians Jo and Vagner Love. Jo is 19 and recently arrived from Corinthians and had an immediate impact on the league's top scorer. Vagner Love has now decided to leave (from Moscow to wish) in Russia and has scored 29 goals in 73 games billed to forge a deadlyPartnership with Jo. Croatian international Ivica Olic is also capable of a non-member.

The Russian champions to grow in confidence with every European country and their team has international experience, good and no visible weakness. His form early in their first Champions League reflected this situation. He managed to hold Arsenal 0-0 at the Emirates Stadium to beat 1-0 at home to overcome the German giants Hamburg (home) and managed to keep the oldFC Porto to a draw (in Portugal).

Dynamo Kiev was the last team of the former Soviet bloc to the impact on the Champions League in the late 1990s. If this is the season when another team from the East has a serious impact on the Champions League?
